What The Locals Eat: Best Taco Spots In Dallas-Fort Worth

We know that Tuesday is #TacoTuesday but here in Dallas we celebrate the taco every day of the week. With so many taco options it can be difficult to choose where to go. That's why our staff picked their Top 5 Taco places + why they think you should try them! These tacos are located all across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex so you should have no trouble finding one close to you.

El Paisano in Dallas, TX. (East Dallas). El Paisano’s has the best street tacos and hot sauce I have EVER tasted!! Every bite is heaven and its open till 2am. It is even full of families and locals till the early hours of the morning because of how delicious they are. – Tina Akyol

J.Macklin’s Grill in Coppell, Texas. My favorite taco is the avocado tempura taco. As a vegetarian it is not easy to get tacos in DFW but J.Macklin’s Avocado Tempura Taco has it all. Crunchy and creamy all at the same time. – Jason Bahamundi

Tacos la Banqueta Puro D.F. (Downtown Dallas / Deep Ellum / Lakewood) Hailing from Southern CA, the capital of REAL Mexican food (outside of Mexico), I have a deep rooted love for Mexican food and in my opinion, stronger pull on what is GREAT MX food. This place is the home to the best street tacos & hot sauce here in the Dallas Proper area. The hot sauce / salsa really adds to the experience and I’m a firm believer in you MUST have good sauce for a good taco.   – Daniel Mason

 

Lupe’s Tex-Mex Grill (Bedford / Arlington / Keller) Their Colleyville Tacos are to die for. Both the steak and chicken tacos have grilled onions and pablano peppers with Monterry Jack cheese on them. It seems like there is a sauce on them, but it is the culmination of delicious juices from the grilled food. Many of my friends love Lupe’s and several, like me, only order the Colleyville Tacos.  – Scott Holmes

 

Torchy’s Tacos (Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex) - Baja Shrimp Taco. It’s a hand-battered fried shrimp with cooked cabbage slaw topped with pickled jalapeños & onions, queso fresco, cilantro & a wedge of lime. Served with Chipotle Sauce on your choice of tortilla. It is soooo good. But honestly, anything at Torchy’s Tacos would be awesome. – Erin Boyle
