Where The Locals Drink: Dallas Beer Gardens

It might be mid-February, but Dallas has more or less decided it’s time for Spring. The birds are singing, the temperatures are sitting in the 60’s and 70’s, and we’re breaking out our shorts and flip flops. In the spirit of this early Spring, we’ve pulled together our list of favorite Dallas beer gardens. Some of these are Dallas hallmarks while others have just recently opened. All offer fantastic outdoor seating areas, an expansive list of beverages, and provide a great scene to kick back and relax. Most welcome four-legged friends into their outdoor areas as well.

Dot’s Hop House & Cocktail Courtyard

Dot’s is Deep Ellum’s newest addition to the beer garden craze. Located off Commerce Street, just east of Downtown Dallas, this massive patio is famous for its giant outdoor chandelier, large beer selection, and giant Jenga. If you’re in the neighborhood you’ll want to give Dot’s a try.

Goodfriend Beer Garden & Burger House

Located in east Dallas just minutes from White Rock Lake, Goodfriend’s is a homey spot to come solo or with a group. Craft beers, the fried bar food your tastebuds crave, and room to sit indoors and out - Goodfriend’s has it all. Stop by on your way to or from the Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Gardens, right down the street from Goodfriend’s.

The Ginger Man

Located in the heart of Uptown, The Ginger Man’s Dallas location features plentiful outdoor seating on their multi-level outdoor deck, an upstairs library-style lounge, and many a local beer. Stop by for a game of darts, sample the latest beer selections, or just kick back and enjoy the breeze!

Sundown at Granada

Sundown at Granada is located right next to the historic Granada Theater in Lower Greenville. The largest beer garden in the neighborhood, Sundown at Granada offers 60+ beers and farm-to-table fare, all just steps away from the theater. Next time you’re in the neighborhood for a show, stay after for a drink at Sundown.

The Foundry

The Foundry, and its adjoining restaurant, Chicken Scratch, bring the beer garden scene to North Oak Cliff. The Foundry has a laid back atmosphere that’s perfect for an afternoon of catching up with friends and taking in some live music. Beer and whiskey are on tap, ping-pong is available, and your dog is welcome. Come on down!
