THE DREAMS OF SCHOOL CHILDREN MATTER There are still trillions of stars to identify. Millions of diseases to cure. Countless dinosaurs to uncover. Who will seek out these unknowns? We need the Perot Museum of Nature and Science now more than ever to inspire our children to be the scientific leaders of tomorrow. The Perot Museum exposes our children to a world of ideas and concepts in science, math and technology, all within one spectacular location. By offering hands-on ways to learn about scientific evidence, mathematical concepts and natural history, the Museum will profoundly affect what and how our kids experience science and nature. Future scientists, mathematicians and engineers will find inspiration and education through interactive exhibits, multimedia presentations and vivid contextual displays. IMPROVING OUR ECONOMY MATTERS It's an exciting time for our city. In the past several years, arts and cultural organizations in North Texas have generated over $750 million annually in economic activity. The Perot Museum brings new energy and economic benefits. Last year alone, the Museum of Nature & Science in Fair Park served over 600,000 people. The new Perot Museum is poised to host, educate and amaze even more visitors, not only from Dallas but from throughout North Texas and the region. Through permanent exhibits and programming, and by hosting world-renowned traveling exhibitions, the Perot Museum will draw international press and become a premier attraction for curious minds. The impact on local businesses will be exponential. EDUCATION MATTERS The Perot Museum is a much-needed complement to our school systems throughout the state and region. The 180,000-square-foot facility provides youth the opportunity to explore new ideas through tangible, galvanic exhibits, where they'll study everything from dinosaurs to DNA. Programming includes tactile exploration areas, discovery stations, workshops, demonstrations, lectures and symposia, field trips, labs, a teacher development center, after-school and summer classes, clubs, interactive media and more. Online activities, interactive media and online education programs further extend the reach of the Perot Museum. The learning possibilities are simply endless. An alarming 79% of 12th graders in the U.S. are not proficient in science, and the Museum provides the resources we need to improve this statistic and maintain a competitive edge in the world. SCIENCE MATTERS The Perot Museum is a place where families can learn together and individuals can take a break from their daily routines to ponder the vast mysteries of science. Visitors can wander, either to get lost or to find their way, as they discover something new and fascinating. The Museum reminds us that the universe is grander than ourselves, older than we can fathom, and that the world actually revolves around the sun, and not us. It inspires our community through exhibits, marvels and presentations. It exhilarates and entertains visitors of all ages...because after all, it's never too late to learn. History & Milestones Where we’ve been, where we’re going.
